According to the New Langwell Index, Van Marly & Cie were "Dealers; clients
of Thibouville Freres" The Thibouville family was involved in the
manufacture of musical instruments starting in the 1700s and operating
through many different partnerships & combinations of family members. The
partnership that made this particular instrument operated through perhaps 50
dealers and stenciled the dealer names onto the instruments right in the
factory. They were located in Ivry-la-Batialle and operated from 1909 to
'after 1950'.
