Still your ISP; if the woodwind.org mail server can't connect to your mail
server or your mail server tells woodwind.org to try later, the delivery
will be attempted a few hours later. If it can't connect on the second
try, the wait time is increased, third time, increased again, etc.

Since mail servers can reject connections for all sorts of reasons (down,
too busy, flaky Internet), and during busy times (spam floods, especially)
might only be able to accept messages 10 minutes out of every hour or
less, your messages will arrive in seemingly random order even though they
were originated in the proper order.
