Bill, the ring is not missing. I can tell it was made this way to begin
with. The clarinet is a 1906 Buffet, and yes, it is an A. The Selmer
bell, which is obviously newer than the clarinet, came with it instead
of the original bell. I will send you a picture of it off list.
