D'oh should have read the rest of the thread.

However, I suppose some folks DO need to read it more than once! :)

I find that I want to protect that bottom of the window as well. Also,
adding to your remarks concerning the type of swab:

I use a silk swab, with a part rope - part metal chain link attachment.
The silk isn't quite as thick, but I make sure I stretch it out so it
won't get caught in the mouthpiece before I begin swabbing. Again, the
window is also of concern to me, as well as the tip. Part of my issue
is because I don't like having to buy any more reeds than absolutely
necessary. I find that a good mouthpiece, kept well, means that more of
the reeds I buy will work with the mouthpiece. Also, I got this
mouthpiece and loved it - I can't thank you enough Walter Grabner - and
intend to use it as long as I can - until Walter makes an even better one?
