If that is indeed the case, and people knew what they were bidding on,
the yes, the burden shifts at least 50-50 to the willing suckers who bid
up ridiculous dollars to own an intermediate horn they could have bought
from other eBay sellers for one-third the selling price. March in with
your eyes open, then: I suppose the momentum of being in the middle of a
bidding war will overcome common sense every time. P. T. Barnum should
be honored as a great prophet: there really IS a sucker born every minute.
