I go to school and go to the basketball for pep band and I came home to
100 messages and it took awhile to read most of them. Especially the one
entitled A penny for your clarinet. A foot note to the basketball game
for pep band. I played solo for the almost the whole woodwind section. We
had a few brass, a percussionist, me, and a bari Sax. Old time Rock &
Roll was fun because every one in the band except me played the first 2
measures, and I was the only one who played the 3rd&4th measures.
About the Selmer 1400 instead of my pep band experiences. I started
playing it in band on Tuesday and I had a few problems. I mentioned I use
a Hite Primer mouth piece, the problem is the cork was to small on the
mouth piece to keep it in the barrel. I tried using the barrel off my
broken Bundy since it fits snugly but the Selmer would not play the high
C,D, or F and a few other various notes. I have to deal with the mouth
piece rocking little until at least February after the contest when I can
send the mouth piece out to get it re-corked. It's midnight and I have
school tomorrow (luckily I don't have to go until 10:30) so I'll send
more either tomorrow night when I get home or this weekend when I find
some time to review other things that have been posted.
