Hi Nancy,
probably not.
In Brazil we do not have Rosewood but a wood called "Jacarandá". It is
almost the same wood but its colour is brown.
The old french bassons, made by Buffet, were made with that kind of wood.

All the best

My rosewood clarinets are made from Brazilian rosewood. The color of
rosewood varies depending on where it was grown. I am not certain whether
the location of growth makes a big difference, although I would imagine that
wood grown in the rainforest would be different than wood from a more
temperate region.

I can't help wondering if the name "India" or
"Madagascar" or "Bolivia is more significant than the differences
between individual pieces of wood regardless of their origin?
