Subj: [kl] Pomarco Mouthpiece Questions
Date: Thu, 15 Jan 2004 14:03:18 -0500

I recently bought some books from a retired clarinetist. Included were
some mouthpieces (blanks mostly), barrels and miscellaneous accessories.

Among the mouthpieces are three soprano clarinet Pomarco crystal mouthpieces.

Two of the mouthpieces appear to be exactly the same. They are inscribed
with a 2 and an italic AL on the back of the mouthpiece.

The other mouthpiece does not have anything inscribed on the crystal. It
is a somewhat different design and is also slightly shorter (3 mm?) than
the first two mouthpieces. This one has a number 2 on the tenon
ring. Also on this mouthpiece the bottom of the window appears to have
been opened up in a semicircle extending to a maximum of about 2 mm below
what I think would be the normal bottom of the window. For me this
mouthpiece plays pretty well, certainly better than the first two.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these mouthpieces?

Thanks,

Gary
