Thank you for the hint. It's often said that the wood in a clarinet
costs very little. One dealer advertises (and this is at retail
prices) a complete "clarinet wood set" of blackwood for $85.
The same dealer also offers three different "rosewoods" from Madagascar,
India, and Bolivia. I'm not to the point where such details make a
difference yet, but I can't help wondering if the name "India" or
"Madagascar" or "Bolivia is more significant than the differences
between individual pieces of wood regardless of their origin?
