Just for the record, she didn't. Nor do I feel that way myself. I'm a
big fan of both authors.

I agree that it's not the same thing (for reasons that you have pointed
out very clearly). Basically, this was exactly my point. Some of us
judge the moral/ethical aspects of art (vs. those of politics and
organized religion) by different standards. This allows/encourages us
to ignore aspects of art works that we cannot permit ourselves to ignore
in politics or religion.

Everyone deserves the right to 'vote with their feet'. I was just
pointing out the distinction.
