Dear Jodi;

You are not weird. High school band parts for the bass clarinet are in the
treble clef. If you continue to play bass clarinet in university or in an
orchestra you will eventually come face to face with some very weird looking
bass clarinet parts that could be all in bass clef or a combination of
treble and bass clef or there could be passages where the treble clef
portions are to be read up an octave. Also just as there are clarinets in A,
there used to be bass clarinets in A, so you could be confronted with a bass
clarinet part in the bass clef in A!!!!! So get cracking on you scales and
bass clef now. That will certainly help you with real weirdness later on.
