Yes, Michele Zukovsky LA Phil. changed from Boehm to Oehler starting with the mouthpiece. I don't think she'll mind if I say when I visited her in LA (1970's) coming from England with my GR Uebel bassetized clarinets, she said, had she known that a boehm clarinet could sound so "German" she would never have changed to Oehler system. On the other hand, I tried her Wurlitzers and found they had a much different feeling to them than my Uebel German-Boehms (before they were bassetized). That's one reason I ended up buying Wurlitzer Reform-Boehms.

I also started out on Buffet Boehms and changed to Reform-Boehm. I never really changed fingering systems though, only added the German system to my repertoir with the basset horn.

I think the mouthpiece change was a far more significant change than the fingering system. The fingering change is only an inconvenience. The mouthpiece/reed change opened up a whole new world of tonal/expressive possibilities!
