Well it might be older than me, but it is not smarter or better informed
that me. The height of the HP and LP playing was in the 1920s.
Although it continued for a while, I believe that the major companies
stopped making two clarinets, one a high pitched instrument, the other a
low pitched one by aound 1935. I once had a high pitched b-flat
clarinet that I used as a clarinet in b-natural during a performance of
Mozart's Idomeneo. I was magnificent, handsome, and well-informed.
