<<Here's s question. How do you make sure your reeds are wet enough when
switching between Sax and Clarinet>>

I have been known to keep a moistened sponge in the tip of my mouthpiece cap
for this purpose.

Doubling on oboe and bassoon pose a more difficult problem as there is no
mouthpiece cap. Soaking the reeds in a glass is until you need to play can be
dangerous, as the reeds can oversoak and become unplayable. I remember one show
where I kept a small moist rag wrapped around my oboe reed. I was able to get
it off fast enough to play and it kept the reed adequately moist.

Speaking of doubling........remind me to tell you all about the time Vicki
Carr yelled at me for not having an English Horn available..........
