Many thanks to Nick S. for correcting me on the flare in the old Albert system clarinets. I am suprised as I remember that Alan Hacker especially used Albert clarinets to extend to basset clarinets as they had a relatively straight bore. He surely never would have used a 1010 for this purpose! Did I get this wrong too? Or are Albert clarinets not the same as what has become known as Albert system??
