Subj: [kl] Help! Need Parts. Barber's Adagio Op. 11 arr. for Cl. Choir
Date: Tue, 6 Jan 2004 16:32:09 -0500

Does anyone know the arranger, publisher, and where to obtain the parts for
the clarinet choir version of Barber's Adagio for Strings Op. 11 that was
produced on the "Barber's Adagio" album with Richard Stoltzman and the
Kalman Opperman Clarinet Choir???

I know of an arrangement by Lucien Cailliet published by G. Schirmer that
the Cappricio Clarinet Choir in the Netherlands has in their library, but
Schirmer seems to be completely out of the loop about everything -
mechanical licenses, what pieces they've published... everything. The rep I
spoke with claims the clarinet choir version doesn't exist (when it
obviously does)... and with their imprint, and when I told them the piece
was in Cappricio's library, she renigged.

In any case, G. Schirmer doesn't have the piece in their archives... nor do
they have any master copies to reproduce it an sell me parts. But in any
case, I'm looking specifically for the arrangement that Stoltzman did if
that's available for my own recording project. If that's Lucien Cailliet's
arrangement... great... I know who to contact. If not, then does anyone know
how to obtain the parts?

Thanks in advance,
Bryan
