This is really not true.

The Symphony in Ft. Worth has a much smaller budget and is in some financial
trouble due to contract commitments with the Bass Hall for a venue. They
can't seem to pay the bill. The orchestra is a fine ensemble...but not in
the Dallas Symphony's class. Dallas has been a recording and touring
orchestra for years. Not a Boston, Philly or New York...but a player.
Ft. Worth's opera company has been off the map almost completely for years.
The once very fine ballet company in Ft. Worth has been in trouble for a
number of reasons for a number of years now. They almost closed last year.
The Dallas Summer Musicals....(hire musicians) are in good shape and looking
to add shows in the future in the new Performing Arts Center as well as Fair
Park's Music Hall...while Casa Theater in Ft. Worth is reducing shows.

So where is it in the music world that Ft. Worth has a head start? Just
wondering how such ideas come to mind....

Dallas supports several fine chamber orchestras as well. And several of the
suburban orchestras are outstanding. The Richardson Symphony has been a very
successful organization. http://www.richardsonsymphony.org/v2/index.htm This
Symphony is well funded and is growing every year under that baton of Anshel
Brusilow, (concert master of the Philly for many years...as well as
conductor of the Philly Chamber orchestra, the Dallas Sym, Professor of
conduction and conductor at UNT, and a million other credits). A fantastic
conductor and musician. The Richardson Symphony has an incredible venue to
call home at: http://www.richardsonsymphony.org/v2/ec_index.htm

Carrollton, Irving, Las Colinas, Garland.....I don't even know all of the
small community orchestras there are so many in the Dallas area. They only
happen because people give money.
