My 15 year old Buffet R13 just cracked! I thought it was out of the danger zone, but I was gravely mistaken. It's a terrific instrument too. I guess this cold midwestern weather did it. How many repairmen out there superglue the cracks? It must be as good as pinning, since glues today are incredible. Does pinning or gluing the crack affect the playing ability of the instrument? I am hoping I don't need to chuck this great horn out and get a new one because of a 1 1/2 inch long crack on the upper joint, which extends from the tenon on the upper joint to the top trill key. Any ideas? Help me! :)
