There isn't anything other than anecdotal evidence of that happening. The
dye formulations from years ago also weren't as good... As long as CDs are
taken care of, you won't have storage problems. I have thousands of CDRs
here and I've never experienced one of them "going bad." They have been
burned over a number of years, starting from when the best CD burners only
burned at double speed.
