OK, now you have me confused. If you record them onto MD OR onto the
computer, isn't it a wav going in either way? The MD I have records them
as wavs.
>>Who ever said anything about TOSSING the LP's? Besides my wife, of
course. ;-)<<
LOL we have probably 1000 albums taking up space...........heh heh I am
waiting to get my hands on these things, and get one of those nice compact
Bose type stereos.....
>> Furthermore, what happens if your hard drive crashes?
If you erase them from your hard drive, who cares if your hard drive
crashes? LOL
>>Also, define "limited" shelf life.
According to the tech boards, a burned CD starts actually Fading after about
5 years!!!! They also can rust. This is one like you or I would burn on
our puters. I have no idea if it's done any differently or secured somehow
in a studio. I am a true amateur at this stuff.
>>I have 25 year-old videotapes that SHOULD be
long dead by now (8-10 year lifespan). With proper care, they should last
long enough for the CD format to be succeeded by something better! <<
Well this is the whole problem LOL :PPPPP I don't want to have to transfer
stuff AGAIN
(Groan......)
