Does anyone know the physics behind tonal color? Is it the bore and if so
is it a function of the taper. Is the taper parabolic or straight? I am
very interested in changing my tone. I am playing on an RC with a 5 Rv lyre
and hate it. I want a little more round and centered sound. I used to have
an old piece of junk I sanded the face and lay. Surprisingly, for principal
work, it projected wonderfully through the orchestra. I wish I still had
it, but it went beyond repair (dropped tip down on the floor).
