Jim, because I live just up the street from you, so to speak, in Los
Altos, I was also struck by the bomber's implicit assumption that humans
do not have the same rights as animals.

Such vicious and destructive ideas are often found in people who hold
view so strongly, that they presume them to have the same truths as
Euclidean geometry. I see such people as anarchists who also achieve
their politial and/or social goals through destruction of those who
oppose them.

This appears to be the operative element of small scare thugs and large
scale ones as well such as Hamas and Al Queida.
