Dan,

is it OK to use a Bb tenor or perhaps a C-melody? I personally don't hear
any difference in sound and prefer these instruments over the A tenor.
Besides, I don't think that the composer had any idea what he wanted when he
requested this instrument. Besides, my conductor Maestro Bag O'Wind told me
he called the infamous Stanley Rocker who said if I can't transpose it onto
the Bb I should be fired on the spot. He may have also said something about
a darker Belgian sound, but that is a different story. (He may have been
discussing chocolate, but I had tuned out at that point)

That is why it is great to have your contributions here. That, and those
sexy stories about Polish girls at polka-fests!
