Excuse me?"
I had an opportunity to use my C clarinet last year when an orchestra I play
in performed the Bizet Symphony.
The second player does not have access to a C clarinet, and we decided it
didn't sound right to have one C and one Bb due to the differing tone colors. I
wasn't happy about it, but there was nothing I could do. I couldn't compel the
second player to obtain a C clarinet, and the conductor couldn't have cared
less.
So, I can see the reason in Forest's remark.
