Following recent discussion of pitch changing, I thought this software might
be of interest:

It allows you to slow down or speed up any CD (for example) in real time
without changing the pitch, and also allows you to change the pitch without
changing the tempo. You can also loop any passage.

There is some loss of quality, but not enough to damage the usefulness of
having the ability to hear a passage you might want to transcribe at a
manageable tempo; or the ability to set up some sort of useful context for
practising, using anything you already have in CD, MP3 or a couple of other
formats.

The free trial version at the site will only work on the first track of a CD
or file, but it's more than enough for you to judge whether or not you want
the full version.
