My understanding of the result of the audition is as follows:
Stephen Williamson will become Principal Clarinet in a couple of weeks, filling the vacancy created
by the retirement of Joseph Rabbai.
If Ricardo Morales decides not to return to the Met next season (by Jan. 1, 2004) Anthony McGill of
the Cincinnati Symphony will be offered the other Principal Clarinet position, which he would then
assume in September, 2004.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
