Probably some of you saw the CNN report that a computer program has been
relatively successful in predicting which pop songs will become 'hits'.
Perhaps pop music is easier to judge because it tends to follow a
limited number of formulas. I assume somebody will test the program on
the likes of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saens, Copland and perhaps
even (gasp!) Mozart in the near future...
