Subj: [kl] A concert of some rarities
Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2003 14:33:28 -0500

On Thursday night Feb. 19 in Santa Fe, NM, I'll be participating in a
concert that will include some very rare Mozart basset horn music. We
will do all 6 notturni for voices and mix clarinets, the adagio k 411
for 2 clarinets and 3 basset horns, several other works for mixed
clarinets and basset horns, and what is sometimes called "The English
Horn Adagio" a fragment for clarinet and three bassets in AT LEAST two
different completions.

By copy of this note, I am asking Keith Bownen to give some critical
elements of where, when, who, why, how, etc. And we will have 3 basset
horns in Santa Fe, NM, maybe the first time that there has been such a
thing.

There won't be much of an opportunity to hear anything like this in the
near future.

Oh yes, we will also do an arragement (the only one) of the Masonic
Funder Music for 3 clarinets and 3 basset horns.

Anybody who comes with a mouthpiece can try my basset horn and Keith's
too. But you must bribe us with candy, pizzas, and stuff like that.
