About the tuner, though...I had a long discussion about the tuner with
the SmartMusic rep, and it currently will not sound a pitch for you to
play intervals against. It is a standard "stop the needle" tuner,
which
in my very opinionated view is next to useless. I know lots of
players
who can "stop the needle" on a tuner who can't play in tune to save
their
lives!! The rep said they were working on this as a feature for some
future edition of SmartMusic.

What SmartMusic *does* do is allow you to play a pitch and it will
play the pitch as well so that you can tune unisons.
A suggestion is to buy a Tuner Pickup that you can clip to the
instrument and it will display the intonation while playing with an
outside source like an accompaniment. So Smartmusic will play the
correct tuning note that you are attempting to play and you have to
match the pitch - that's usefull!!

Hey, soon on my page (linked below) you are going to see a link to
check out a program which takes an audio .wav or .mp3 and turns it
into a midi file that is actually quite accurate (completely unlike
anything in the past). Still in testing...... But Stravinsky's Rite
didn't come out too badly!
