To solve the problem of pitch on your Finale files, you might want to
consider getting "SmartMusic"
You can save your Finale file as a SmartMusic file and set the internal
tuner on SmartMusic to replicate as needed. It also has a fully functional
tuner to practice with as well. It should run on your Windows 98 system.

The program has a huge number of prepared accompaniments, and is a great
practice tool in and of itself, but with the new functionality of being able
to easily convert Finale files, it opens a whole new range of options.

The problem is that I am the only one in the world who has the music.
I
can find no understanding of how Smart Music would have the literature
that I want to play.

What literature? I can import anything into Smartmusic and create a
Smartmusic accompaniment with it.
