The opinion of an experienced teacher such as yourself can't be ignored,
but my 2nd clarinet (my original student instrument) is a YCL-20 that
was purchased new 4-1/2 years ago. Neither my ear nor my tuners (Seiko
and Peterson) nor my teacher when I was taking lessons and she played it
can detect bad intonation on it. I imagine that every manufacturer
makes a "bad" instrument now & then, and of course all instruments need
maintenance from time to time ??? But the intonation of my
4-1/2-yr-old YCL-20 is just fine. FWIW.
