I'm not sure I understand this. I mean, literally. To me, a faster
airstream suggests blowing harder and louder. I suppose it is possible to
"push" the breath without increasing the volume, I've been trying that all
afternoon, but I've been rewarded with squeaks galore. I RARELY squeaked
when I played the "wrong" way: now it's become a way of life:-).
I should add something I forgot in the list posting: the guy I'm taking
lessons from also was horrified I was using a #2 reed. Too soft. So I'm
also trying to get used to a #3, albeit a Vandoren, which is not as hard as
some #2 reeds I've come across.
