I remember "running into this" many times in many different ways. It sounds
to me as if, more than anything else, you're trying to do too many things at
once. Maybe things would work better if you back up a little, re-establish a
better level of general comfort, then work on one change at a time until you
feel comfortable with it and know it it's a help or not.

It's very easy to move from adjustment to contortion, and trying to adjust
too many things at once makes it very hard to know which one backfired when
things suddenly fall apart.
