Did not, did not! I can go back to the archives from when I first
showed up on this list in 1998, and with no fear of exposure I will
swear on the Tarot cards I worship that I never used the anathematic
terms "dark sound." Maledizione!

Anyway, someone clued me in that partials have nothing to do with
dentures--but after spending a lot of money having my mouth repaired,
that's sort of the first thing that comes to mind. Something to do with
overtones that has as much to do with sound engineering as music, I
gather? Sadly, it doesn't help me a bit trying to learn at long last
how to tongue a reed while holding my mouth funny while bearing down on
my diaphragm like a singer while trying to sound the long "e" vowel
while blowing into the mouthpiece. Oh, and while getting used to using
a harder reed. I suppose it has to get worse before it gets better.
