I don't know what it is with the Selmer line and me, but every one I =
play has a thin whiney sound. I don't know if I sound that way to =
others when I play Selmers, but the bottom line is that I don't like the =
way I sound when I play them. I did, at one time, own a Centered Tone =
just because I thought maybe if I played it for a while I would adapt to =
it somehow and it might sound better. I played it for about a year, but =
didn't notice a change, and subsequently, sold the thing. I have played =
the newer models too and don't like them either. The Signature, in =
addition to the sound problems, is just too heavy. Like I've said =
before, there are a lot of people who like the Selmer line. I am not =
one of them though.

I'm not certain who said which here. But Nancy, if the part about not =
liking
Selmers because they are "whiney" was yours, before the whole discussion
goes off in a different direction (which it may anyway), are you still
talking about Centered-Tone Selmers, or are you generalizing to the =
newer
models, which are (regardless of individual opinions about them) very
different creatures?
