Hello:
On the subject of tone (jazz or classical):
We Greek musicians have a type of tone that we consider correct and good, but
it is, of course, very different from the classical clarinet tone. It
probably would be considered a "poor tone" for classical music, but that is okay.
In folklore (folk music etc.) it is what the "folk" consider proper that is
used. A professional opera voice tone would not be considered "good" by the
standards of some cultures. I guess jazz is a similar type of situation.
Interesting thread, anyway.
Thanks,
John (Yiannis)
