I've found Sibelius with PhotoScore Professional to be
a great program. Although its quite expensive, with
Sibeliu sbeing around $300 (with the ed discount $550
without) and Photoscore being around $200. As for
cheaper programs, I'm not aware of any that are good
enough not to reuire extensive editing once you've
scanned it to the point where it would be faster to
just do it all by hand.
I think Finale has a scanning program as well, but I
don't know much about it as I much prefer Sibelius.
