Some of you might know I am a self directed adult student of clarinet
with a private teacher. Since my teacher is a symphonic musician and
doesn't teach beginners except for me, I basically choose my own
materials, but it is getting very difficult to find appropriate music
and study materials. I love classical and chamber music. I have plenty
of scale and technique books, such as Kroepsch book 1 and Galper Upbeat
Scales. I am currently able to play 16th notes at very slow speeds if
they are in keys up to 3 flats or two sharps. My mix of materials has
been quite eclectic. I am currently (last two months) working on the
following:

Mozart 5 Divertimenti
Mozart Trio KV 498
Schubert Octet
Suite Hebraique
Schubert 6 Lieder (Baermann)

Rose Studies (first 20) - very slowly
Kroepsch book 1 - very slowly
The Developing Clarinetist - Leon Lester
The Advancing Clarinetist - Leon Lester - these last two are at my level

I would love suggestions, especially from those of you who teach adult
beginners for method books, studies, classical and chamber music I might
try at this stage. I have many other classical pieces such as the
Mozart Concerto and Brahms sonatas which I'm not completely capable of
yet, but keep returning to every year to gauge my progress.

Many thanks

Audrey
