Ken, I'm now showing some woeful ignorance, but, what is a bandoneon? It reads like somthing pretty cool!
Certain aspects of any show has to be choreographed, IMO, in order for things to flow smoothly. However, I suspect that the improvisation itself is NOT repeated time after time! ,-)
And, I knew I should have read the entire thread before asking about recordings! Thanks ever so much Ken! You rock. Or should I say, you tangoklezmer? :D
