Karl, Well, since I know both of the band director's well, I don't =
think
either one of them are "lazy" in any way at all and I wouldn't "fault"
either one of them but I sure did choose my words poorly. They are both
great! I also understand the budget thing all too well. It just ticks =
me
off, when I know we have 3 buses for every sport being played by =
athletic
teams in this district and all the equipment you can imagine-not to =
mention
the insurance fees we must be paying to support all this! We have a =
great
music program and great teachers but we have at least one music teacher =
in
the district who teaches in a converted broom closet for lack of space.
Then we have the local music store ripping off the school system by =
doing
shoddy or no repairs on our instruments after we've paid for the work.
There, now I feel better after having my rant! =20
I called the band directors and one of them has the bass clarinet at =
the
moment to check it out. It would have been nice to be able to take it =
to a
shop myself to save them some time-I would love to have the whole thing =
done
by my own technician and perhaps I will if my daughter really enjoys =
playing
it. I just wished I lived in a bigger town when these things come up =
and
that there would be a place I could take the instruments to where the =
work
is done on-site. If the local store had a competitor here, I'm sure =
service
would improve tremendously. =20
