I didn't notice Raul's cologne, Nancy, even afterwards when they were all
talking to us in the Y's art gallery:-). But that guy...he's 62, he's been
playing bandoneon since age 8...just watching him was a joy and hearing him
exploit the possibilities of that instrument took it way beyond what a lot
of people (I plead guilty) thought of as a camouflaged accordion. I was
joking with my girlfriend and said "You know how I said I want to come back
in my next life as an English horn? I lied. I wanna be a bandoneon."

Was the bassist's name Ken Filiano? If so, my girlfriend ran into his
mother in the ladies' room afterwards, she was holding forth rather proudly
about her kid.

It's interesting that the show is clearly staged and choreographed because
the feeling was of spontaneity. It's a pleasure to see people who
obviously enjoy working together and who can think as one

Yes. And for more of a treat, Berkshire Record outlet has a CD called
"Tango Klezmer" that features all these gentlemen: Feidman, Jaurena, Baez,
and Filiano. I don't known when it came out but they are selling it for
$2.99. Even with $5.00 shipping, so what? Need I say that I ordered it?

It is, by the way, a great place to find "cut-outs" and some wonderful
rarities.
