Hello List:
I was told about the Klarinet list by a person I just bought a Buffet double
case from. She suggested I introduce myself, so here goes:
My name is John Pappas, and I am a Greek folk musician. I play Albert system
clarinet (we call it klarino), and my favorite instruments are my Buffet C
and A clarinets and my Jean Marbeau Bb. We mainly play the C clarinets though.
If anyone ever has any questions about Greek folk music, please feel free to
ask. The "Klarino" is the main instrument for mainland folk music in most
areas (has been since its introduction to Greece about 1835). I have been
enjoying visiting the site for the last few days.
I am looking for a G Albert systime instrument in wood and have received the
Amati catalog. However, I don't know how good these are (by the way, I did
see the long list on G clarinets on the list).
I have a couple of Albert system clarinets that I am thinning from my
collection if anyone should be interested, and I am always interested in finding
another Buffet Albert clarinet.
