Sorry to repeat the same idea within 30 days, but CDs of old radio shows
are truly fascinating... certainly an unexpected gift, not too
expensive, and who can resist them?

War of the Worlds, The Jazz Singer (Al Jolson), Jack Benny, The Saint
(Vincent Price, of all people!), Burns & Allen, The Shadow (The Shadow
knows, heh, heh, heh!!), Fibber McGee (and his closet), Inner Sanctum ,
Abbot & Costello (Who's on First?), Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy, and
so forth. "Dick Tracy in Bb" is musical and especially all-inclusive
of show personalties.

At B&N.com, you can search for these CDs under the "Radio Spirits"
label. There are dozens of them. Places like Costco have them on
sale sometimes. I bought 12 hours of those old shows for $19.95.
Such nostalgia, I used to listen to them while I kneaded the color into
oleo for my parents.
