I have played the Yamaha Yas 475. If I were a clarinetist, who was sitting home wishing I had a gig and I got a call to play a show that involved playing alto Sax I would buy one in a New York min! I'm a yamaha Clarinet Artist, I'm playing the new custom Z alto and I love it. But Yamaha intermediate instruments play great and they're well made. I had a chance to do a gig on a borrowed Yamaha 52 Bari sax, it was great. If I decide to add that to my collection I'll buy a 52 bari instead of the 62. It's about 1k less expensive. I have an old Yss 62 Soprano that is an amazing instrument. If I had to replace it I would go with the 475 soprano, It's about $1400, and I think plays every bit as good as the 675, and I think better than the Custom 875 soprano.

I think Sax questions are apropriate here! Most decent clarinetists can pick up a saxophone and with 15-20 min a day play music that only Saxplayers that have studied long and hard to master. Lets face it we're way over half way there playing clarinet.
