Tell him to look up Nobuya Sugawa - saxophonist of some note with the
Kosei. I believe he teaches in one of the universities - don`t know which
one.
He came over to UK some 7 years ago with his wife accompanying him to give a
recital for the 4th British Saxophone Congress. He (they) almost made all
the other British recitalists` sound like a bunch of idiots. Not one bit of
a hiccup anywhere in 1 hour. The gobsmacked, mesmerised audience just did
not let him go for another 20 minutes. Every other recitalist missed
something somewhere.
These people were put on this Earth by God - or by the 'great architect in
the sky' - or both.
He records for EMI, and I can particularly recommend "Cafe 1930" (rec. in
1995) which I think may only be available as an import. It`s number is
TOCT - 9101
He plays soprano on Histoire du Tango, and several other Piazzolla gems,
together with, on alto, Fantasia - Villa Lobos, and Pieces Caractistiques -
P. Dubois.
The guy really is heaven sent, in spite of my being annoyed with him for not
coming back sooner.

I know saxophone is off topic, but he should indeed be brought back to
Europe and US very, very soon.
