Dan, that is definately true. Notice I said selectively pick. Some thing works better than others. You can also adapt pieces for bassoon or cello to stay in the correct range.

It still remains, unless there are lots of recently published works of which I am unfamiliar, that the solo repertoire for bass clarinet at the student level is very limited. The newer modern stuff is often too complex. As a teacher, herefore, you must do some accomodation to come up with musically interesting repertoire.
