One of the best music programs in this part of the world offers
beginning instrumental instruction starting in the 7th grade, while most
others start in the 5th grade. Those who begin in the 7th grade will
play as well at the end of their 8th grade year as those who started two
years earlier.

Yes, and adults learn even quicker. The more neurologically and =
physically developed one is, the more successful one is. But that =
doesn't mean that a child who *asks* to play shouldn't. And it doesn't =
mean that one who asks and does play will be successful. Some people =
are doctors and others play football. Some do it well and others don't. =
You just don't know how things will turn out unless you try though. If =
you don't succeed after trying your hardest, then try something =
different. And don't wait till you are 94 either!
