There are a number of good instruments still being made under the Conn
brand (UMI was just purchased by Steinway Musical Instruments to create the
new Conn-Selmer company). Their pro trombones, particularly the 88H and
its variants, their pro french horns, and their Vintage One trumpets are
first-rate, and their low brass (Conn and King) is as good as
anybody's. They make only student and intermediate woodwinds under the
King, Conn, Artley and Armstrong names, except some better Armstrong
flutes. The catalog is being consolidated now, however, and some of those
may be dropping out.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
