I am with you 100% on the "relaxed breath". I make my students take a
"relaxed leisurely breath" and think to themselves (stop, think) after
each scales, before going on to the next, hoping that they will play the
next one with no mistakes. If they have problems with the next scale,
then I make them play it slowly & repetively until they have it "down",
then go back to the beginning of the scales and start over, remembering
to "stop, think" during their "relaxed breath". ANNIE
