To remove a stuck barrel from the top of the upper main joint:

Place the "stuck" area under a lamp...50 to 75 watts at a distance of
6" to 8". Check to see that it doesn't get any hotter than warm to the
touch.

Consider using two strap wrenches to grip the two pieces. Do not
include the top jumper key when gripping the main section. The
following will give you an idea what a strap wrench is:
